The Code Blue Leader application aims to support clinicians by offering unwavering focus and consistency during these critical moments. It provides evidence-based, real-time, and situation-specific guidance for resuscitation efforts, helping to ensure that no essential step is overlooked. By coordinating and tracking all vital components of the resuscitation process, the app allows providers to maintain clarity and composure under stress.

Functioning as an interactive "walk-through" of the American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS cardiac arrest algorithm, the Code Blue Leader app delivers step-by-step instructions based on user input. To operate correctly, users are prompted to select appropriate responses at each stage, which in turn activates preset timers that automatically start or reset as needed. Additionally, an integrated metronome supports maintaining optimal chest compression quality and rhythm.

The app includes timing functionalities for CPR cycles and common ACLS medications, accompanied by visual and audible alerts designed to reduce cognitive workload. An automated logging feature records each intervention and step taken during resuscitation, facilitating accurate documentation which can be easily copied for reporting purposes. All medication doses, interventions, and prompts align with the most current American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS guidelines.

For experienced providers seeking a streamlined interface, the app offers "Experienced Provider Mode," which eliminates dialogue cues in favor of a simplified checklist format. This mode is tailored for clinicians who prefer minimal prompts and wish to focus solely on essential actions without additional guidance.
